Why made to measure
Walls in Sofia flats are rarely straight and ceilings almost never level. Off-the-shelf furniture shows it at once: a finger's gap at the wall, a door that rubs, a strip of dead space collecting dust above the unit.
Made to measure means the piece is built after the room has been measured, not before. That is why I start with a visit rather than a price list.
I work on my own with a small circle of suppliers. You deal with one person from the first visit to the fitting, not with a salesperson.

Wardrobes and built-ins
Alcoves, sloping ceilings and walls that are not straight — where off-the-shelf furniture does not fit, but built-in does.

Floor to ceiling or a single wall. Shelf spans are calculated for the load you actually intend to put on them.

Solid wood tables, chairs and worktops
Oak, beech, ash. Glued-up tops finished with oil or lacquer depending on use.

Every piece is different, so there is no price list. The price follows the site visit and exact measurements.
How it works
1. On-site visit
I come at a time that suits you. I measure the walls and note the pipes, sockets, alcoves and anything else that will affect the build. It takes about an hour.
2. Design and quote
I prepare a drawing and a written quote covering materials, hardware, dimensions, price and lead time. If the budget is tighter, I propose an alternative before anything starts.
3. Built in the workshop
Cutting, edging and assembly in the workshop. Every part is checked before it leaves, so problems are not solved in your home.
4. Delivery and fitting
Delivery and fitting. I level everything against the wall, fit the hardware, adjust the doors and leave the room clean.
Materials and finishes
I work with solid oak, beech and ash, with laminated and MDF panels from European makers, and with veneered panels when we want the look of solid wood on a lower budget.
For kitchen worktops I offer compact laminate, oiled solid wood or stone through a partner, depending on use and how much upkeep you are willing to do.
Hardware is Blum, Hettich or equivalent. This is not where I save money — hinges and runners are touched several times a day and are noticed first.
Finishes: water-based lacquer, oil-wax or matt foil. If there are allergies or small children in the home, tell me and we will choose the finish accordingly.
Frequently asked questions
How much will it cost?
There is no price list, because no two projects are the same. The price depends on dimensions, material, hardware and how complex the fitting is.
After the visit you get a written quote with itemised positions, usually within three working days.
How long does it take?
Usually three to six weeks from the approved quote, depending on the project and material availability. The exact lead time is part of the quote.
Do you work outside Sofia?
Yes, within roughly 30 km of the city. Further afield we agree in advance and transport is included in the quote.
Can we work from my idea or a photo?
Of course. Bring photos, sketches or a link. At the visit I will tell you what works as drawn and what needs to change because of the structure or the dimensions.
How is payment handled?
A deposit when the quote is approved, covering materials, and the balance on fitting. No payments are taken through this site.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, on the joinery and the fitting. Hardware carries the manufacturer's warranty. The terms are set out in the quote.
